Challenge

 

The Bank wanted to deploy a system which would enable them to process credit cards applications and all types of secured retail loans with a focus to improve turn around time using a web based system.

 

A system that would process loans using credit scores as benchmarks.

 

Interface with the host application to validate data of existing customers.

 

Support upload of data capture by external channels.

Solution

The Indus Loan Originations – Base Version 2006 was offered to the bank.

 

The solution offers the functionality to capture details for multiple collateral per agreement..

 

Range bands for application scores are defined in the credit scoring master. The system computes the score for every agreement as a part of the workflow.

  If as per the credit scoring the score is below the benchmark the application will be auto rejected and no card will be issued.
 

In the de-dupe stage the score for the application is computed. If the score falls below the benchmark the application will be auto rejected.

 

An application can be marked as in “PAUSE” state whenever there are some documents / additional information required from the customer. This helps to calculate accurate TAT for each application.

 
The credit card number generation continues to happen in the core system which is Smart Vista.
 
De-dupe process – de dupe is run against the origination system and Smart Vista.
 
A single window to view the credit appraisal deviations, eligibility computations, credit scoring, Minimum Credit parameter check, de dupe, document checklist and field investigation results for individual agreements.

Benefits

 

The average credit card approval process which required 15 days prior to implementation is now reduced to 7 days which facilitates in providing better customer service level.

 

Facility provided for uploading of data in csv format.
